The Role

NIRI requires a talented and motivated Marketing Manager with a proven track record of managing effective campaigns across a range of channels to join the global leader in nonwovens innovation. The main purpose of the role will be managing the promotion of the brand and consultancy services, with a core focus on raising awareness and interest in NIRI through the creation and exploitation of marketing campaigns.  

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organisation within the research & development (R&D) sector, marketing services to a wide-range of clients including many house-hold names across various industries. You’ll be joining the company during its growth transition, working alongside and for the Chief Commercial Officer to take ownership of the marketing strategy. You’ll design and implement robust marketing campaigns that reflects NIRI’s reputation as a global leader. You’ll be targeting organisations in the sustainability, medical, filtration, hygiene, automotive, defence, PPE and sports sectors (to name just a few), often targeting senior decision-makers. As the organisation looks to grow its team of experienced scientists and technicians, the marketing campaign and brand strategy will also aid the upcoming recruitment drive. 

The Person

While no experience of the nonwovens sector is needed, the role does require a candidate with 5 years experience in marketing or comms and a strong B2B background. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about conveying the quality of the services NIRI delivers. You will be results orientated and able to turn a marketing strategy into delivery-focused plans that align with the overall business development strategy. While NIRI is proud to have worked with world-renowned brands, most partnerships must remain confidential and therefore a creative and problem-solving attitude is required to find ways to promote services and programmes effectively. 

The key responsibilities and requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with the senior management team to design and implement robust brand and marketing strategies.
  • Researching and analysing market trends and competitors.
  • Creating and deliver marketing campaigns across a wide range of channels and in liaison with our external PR agency.
  • Ensuring the website (soon to be re-launched) remains up to date and consistent with key messages.
  • Managing and creating the content for the monthly newsletter, social media (pre-dominantly LinkedIn), exhibition material, external newsletters and news items on the website. 
  • Analysis of all comms activity to inform changes to campaign plans or strategy where necessary. 
  • Working with Graphic & Video Designers to create compelling and engaging marketing content. 
  • Regularly generate marketing insight reports based on campaigns.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work appropriately and work independently.
  • Ensure that all content is accurate, error-free, high quality, concise, current and adheres to web best practice.
  • A creative eye and ability to brief freelancers (designers, PR, photographers etc) effectively.
  • Some basic graphic design knowledge would be desirable to amend/edit documents or assets as required. 
  • Monitoring and liaising with the Website Designer to update the website content.
  • Developing strong working relationships with the rest of the team.
  • A strong work ethic and team player, with an eye for detail and ability to work to strict deadlines.

Salary: Competitive Salary + Bonus, depending on capability and experience.
